About Piers

From a very young age I have always been interested in photography, partly inspired by the fact that my grandfather Graham Thompson was the Royal photographer for the British Royal Family and my late father, Maurice Thompson, was a Film Director.

My passion for photography led me to achieve a number of qualifications in the UK, successfully completing a City & Guilds in Professional Photography at Cambridge Art College, a Diploma in Press Photography at Sheffield University and also the LBPPA-Licentiate of the British Professional Photographers Associates recognised by the SWPP & BPPA association.


After my studies I went onto work for the Maidenhead Advertiser newspaper in the UK, covering hard news, Royal photography, celebrity photos, local politics and sports. My diversity and drive gave me the opportunity to work for France Press in Paris covering sporting events, documentary news and publicity photos.

But since then, my real passion has been Weddings. To create clever, distinctive, unexpected shots that will surprise and amaze you. Produced in a naturally stylish, beautiful and romantic way that ultimately captivates the story of your very special day.
